The Miami Dolphins have managed to accumulate 11 straight losses this season, the latest a 3-0 loss on Monday Night Football. Blue Devil Knight keeps insisting the Patriots and Dolphins are linked and will end up having parallel, but opposite fates. Right now, the Dolphins are 0-11 and the Patriots are 11-0.
Last week’s games only served to confirm his hypothesis: the Patriots won by 3 at home in a game between teams of disparate strengths. The Dolphins lost by 3 on the road in a game between teams of disparate strengths.

Adam Schein of Fox Sports gave the Steelers an A- on his November report card despite losing to the 2-9 Jets and beating the Dolphins only by 3. He was impressed they beat up the Ravens, a team that’s lost 5 in a row. WHAT???
Hey- the Ravens still have a GOOD run defense! I mean, we (being a Baltimoron :P) haven’t allowed a hundred yard rusher all year!
Wins, schmins! Ha! A-ha. Heh. Snnfft. Waaaah!
It would be very ironic if the Dolphins go 0-16 and the Patriots go 16-0 since the Dolphins were the only team to ever go 14-0 during the regular season. I recall reading how the members from that undefeated Dolphins team drink champagne when the last unbeaten team loses during the regular season. I wonder if they’ll have to send the bubbly to the Patriots to have during their Super Bowl post game celebration.
While I pray the Pats go undefeated, if they have to lose to a team, I hope it is the Dolphins. That will be just beautiful and satisfy my sense of symmetry.
I was so hoping Miami would beat Pitt. It was so freaking close!!! Miami probably should have gone for those field goals instead of going for it on 4th and 300.
PS It really sucks what happened to Ricky Williams. The sign you have a shitty coach is that he played him after only two or three days of practice. Fire your coach! Plus, fine that bastard who stomped on Ricky’s shoulder.
BDK: I’d like to see the Patriots go undefeated. I still have festering anger over that Dolphins team going undefeated. I remained pissed off at Miami for luring Shula away from the Colts for many years after it happened.
I grew up in Baltimore living and dying with the Colts. It still pisses me off that the NFL let Irsay keep the Colts name when he defected to Indianapolis, yet when the Browns moved to Baltimore, Cleveland got to keep the Browns name. I still root for the Orioles even living in Yankeeland, but I don’t give a rats ass about the Ravens because they’re not named Colts. Those imposters in Indy, grrrr. I wish the Giants had Peyton instead of Eli.
Supposedly the champagne thing is a myth. It’s actually just a member or two of the team who does that.
I think it’d be amazing if the Fins are the ones to stop the Pats… but we saw how their first match up went this year…
One of your comments got in my spam box, I fortunately felt like checking it and found it, so now it is de-spammed and responded to. Did any of your other comments not show up?
@gorckat: Don’t cry too much. Your team won the Super Bowl just 7 years ago…
@BDK: It’s sad to say this, but ever since Shula left, Dann Wannstache has probably been the best coach the Dolphins have had. Even a hair above Jimmy Johnson, based on performance. Or I’m biased b/c I wanted a chance to say “Dave Wannstache”.
Cam-cam has had no head coaching experience, so maybe I’ll cut him some slack this year. Even so, that WAS a dreadful decision.
@Polly: A tad long to be holding on to old hurts, eh? Sounds like you’re New York Football Giants fan, then?
@Allen: It would be amazing. Rolling the probability dice, the Dolphins should win a game before the year’s out (they aren’t really as bad as 0-11); just leave it to the Jets to ruin the Dolphins’ historical run.
@l3rucewayne: I’ll check it out!
Just noted Dolphins are -1 (1 point favorites) at Nevada books. Look out!
If you read Life of Reilly a few eeks ago in Sports Illustrated about how sports let us have good old fashioned hate, then you understand where I’m coming from.
Yes, I’m a frustrated Giants fan. Sigh, I miss Phil Simms. 🙁
