Which would you rather have happen this season?
a. The Marlins and Mets both make the playoffs.
b. The Marlins don’t make the playoffs, but knock the Mets out for the third consecutive year.
(OK, not much of a question since there are about 68 Marlins fans, and maybe two of them read this site.)
A.
Must agree, although B would be a perverse joy.
Did you see last night’s game? Looks like the Nationals WTB pitching and defense.
A would be best… if it’s followed with Marlins knocking out the Mets in playoffs.
B is satisfying in the sense of “I’m going down and taking you all with me” kind of mentality.
I know of at least one Met fan that reads the site. What gives with your Mets issues?
@Allen: Also with the prior championships in 1997 and 2003, 2009 would be right on schedule.
@wang: At least two Mets fans. 😀
Why the Mets? Division rival, I guess. And they are an easy target: their recent chokes, plus the fact that the Marlins have won as many World Series despite a 31 year handicap.
The Braves I don’t like either, but they are harder to mock (probably has to do with their ridiculous division title run)
I was born in Philly, so am OK with them winning.
The Nationals still have to prove they are no longer a AAA squad. Not as fun to target them.
The only good thing about the Mets is they’re more respectable than the Yankees.
C. None of the above.
Mets eliminate Marlins, and go onto to win World Series. Only going to happen if Santana can pitch every day, and K-Rod can get 100 saves.
@Allen: I’m still wondering why the Marlins are doing the Yankee haircut requirements.
@Polly: And if the Mets can score more than 1 run the days Santana pitches.
As a Mets fan, who do you guys especially hate? (question up for grabs for wang as well, of course)
