Happy Mouther Day

If you’re one of those people who can’t keep their mouth shut, Happy Mouther Day! They say it’s also Mother’s Day. I don’t know your mothers, but I’ll bet some of them should get Mother’s Day AND Mouther Day cards. My mom isn’t a big talker, so it doesn’t apply to her (Donnie said his mom wasn’t a loud-mouth, but who knows; he might just be embarrassed.)

I decided to get my mom a family portrait from when I was a kid digitized. It wasn’t worth the money to frame and send the picture, so I just told her that she can right-click on the picture and left-click “Save Image As” to save the picture to her hard drive.

Mascot family portrait for Mother’s Day

: I never knew your mom was an octahedron.

: It’s a recessive gene.

: How come I’ve never seen any octahedral eggs?

: They won’t fit right into the egg cartons.

: Although I already called…Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! (I couldn’t show off a family portrait, because all that stuff’s in Houston, boo hoo.)

that’s just heart-warming. Glad to see that Mascot was raised in a traditional Victorian household.

Man, and Here I thought the Mascot was surely an offspring of Riff-Raff. There’s a striking resemblance of the Mascot in his thrown and the pale complection of RIff raff sitting in his thrown.

@Wahrheit: His Victorian upbringing doesn’t seem to have done much for his sense of common decency.

@Blunderprone: I’ve really got to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show someday. These references are going well over my head.

Alright, RHPS is best to be seen at a midnight showing in a little theater with a mix of friends who HAVE seen it adn those who haven’t ( called “virgins”). Sure you could see it by yourself on a DVD … but you MUST experience in a theater …preferably with a local amature troop performing it in unison.

You see, the movie by itself isn’t all that great. Kind of like MDLM done in a vacuum. But to immerse yourself in the cult following is the experience the Mascot would enjoy. You get more out of it.

octahedral? I made C’s in geometry but Mascot’s mom looks like a cube to me. Then again I question Donnie, he who breezed through Mr Lewis’s BC Calculus class like a hot knife through butter. forgive me if I am wrong.

It’s the problem with two-dimensional photos, annie. The Divine Mr. M’s Mom’s face has four sides and her nose is a point (a geometrical one) so you just can’t see it here. The back of her head had four sides meeting at a point opposite her nose. This is why Victorians slept in separate beds.

@Blunderprone: I will work on it. This would have been easier to pull off in college.

@Annie: The (lack of) perspective can make it hard to see…it could be a cube on its corner…but it’s an octahedron.

As far as BC Calculus? I SHOULD have breezed through it. That was the senioritis semester that threw me out of magna cum laude.

@Wahrheit: Victorians slept in separate beds? I thought that was just 50’s sitcoms!

But, yeah, the Mascot’s dad was smart to plop down the cash for two beds…
