“Pressed to name an economist who supports her plan to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said today that commuters, truck drivers and other gas customers know it would make a difference.”
i’m excited about the suspension of the gas tax for three months. i’ll be able to save up to $21.78, and that’s like a free 1/4 of a tank of gas right there!!!! that’s way better than just lowering the price of gas…
Wang, actually these three running represent those that could afford to run the negative adds to smear the main stream media to placate the lazy uninformed, american idle masses into BELIEVING these are the best society could offer.
Mascot, I’m awfully glad to hear you haven’t given up the campaign, because my calculations show that there is a .000000001 chance that all three of the major candidates will suffer disabling injuries or diseases by November–so we gotta be ready. I’ve been doing a lot of prep work behind the scenes, as we discussed in Anchorage two weeks ago…
All I ask is that you keep the ambassadorship to Trinidad and Tobago in mind.
So depressing, as I used to really like the Clintons back before the scandals, in particular before her behavior this cycle showed what a disingenuous petty pandering to the least-common-denominator talking head she is. Ho hum. I realize every politician is like that to some degree, but she has really perfected it.
If GWB made the same claim, the liberal forces would be out in full regalia showing how insanely out of touch reality he is, would mock him for saying the experts are “elitist”.
The buzz was fun the past week in NC. My county (Durham) went 75% for Obama! I was one of them, I’m happy to say.
I know this is a not so serious thread, but it greatly concerns me that many liberals vote narrowly on policy and expertise, not factoring in the all-important charisma/likeability factor. Bill Clinton had massive charisma, zero experience at the national level. He was so damned likable in person at those town hall meetings and the like the he just kicked the Republican’s butts.
Leave it to the Democrats to blow an election that my moldy old sock pile behind the dryer could win.
Mascot, please don’t drop out, I’m still supporting you. Those nights you spent at my home provide memories that I’ll never forget.
Incidentally, just to be clear, I am not a Democrat or Republican. I dislike both parties with great fervor, and am a New Hampshire independent living in NC.

The sad part is…these three running right now represent the best this society has to offer. Methinks we’re F***** come November.
It’ll be like choosing between two bowls of dog poop. The only thing that’s different is the smell, and not by much.

Right! This is why I have a shot in November.
Plus I’m a white male who’s not about to die, so that helps, too.
Yeah… but.. do you have a campaign financed warche$t?

@chessloser: But in my Hummer 2, a quarter tank of gas is good for a drive to the supermarket and back…
@wang: Glass half-full question: is it better than what we have now?
@blunderprone: Who’s got the money, right? I’m voting some third party (or the Egg) come November
@Mascot: You have no chance to president make your time.
@Wahrheit: So that’s what the Alaska trip was for? I suggest you guys get cracking; he’s not polling very well in Zogby.
@BDK: Those nights you spent at my home provide memories that I’ll never forget.
Good times, huh?
On the likability: 100% agree; there are advantages to being well-liked. America’s foreign relations could use an injection of this.
