Sometimes, you get a little of the “luck of the Irish”, and I certainly got that in my upset win. The game comes complete with an Exchange sac and I’ll be showing it off despite that Tacticus already posted it on his site.

There will be another tournament after this one completes (probably with a couple week break), and sign-up will start soon. Next time around, I want to try a format that’s not round robin and not Swiss, and any ideas are welcome.

Congratulations to drunknknite on hitting the rank of USCF Expert!

drunken knight has NOT played numbers one, two, or three.
polly has not played number one or four. and
wahrheit has not played number one, either.
tacetus has not played numbers one or five.

anyone see a pattern here, among the top four versus the bottom six??? pattern recognition anyone????

id like to watch some of these. my one day off from work for many days is tomorrow monday, are any matches set for monday among them, or on friday? i will buy tickets for all these head to head.

IMO, the game to watch will be Rocky vs Gorckat

This week will have 1 vs 2. We’ll see what happens. I guess I better go over to his blog and study some of his losses. 🙂

Hmmm, I guess something bad could have happened to him, in which case my previous comment was pretty insensitive. I type before I think sometimes… Allright, more like often.

@David: Typically, people haven’t been announcing game times, but it might be kinda cool. Unfortunately, Tuesday was the only day chessloser and I could play (not that the 5 vs 6 matchup is quite as attractive…)

@Allen: Well, if gorckat shows up, it might be more interesting…

@Polly: Shhhh! You’ll give him the idea to scout your losses too!

@Wahrheit: Unfortunately, it looks like a bye week for you.

@l3rucewayne: Don’t worry too much about the comment, I guess.

I hope nothing has happened to gorckat and that he is just busy but I am curious if there is a plan in case he does not show back up for a while.

Oh I was going to mention something before but I figured someone would notice it, you have me with 1 point against l3r but it was Tom, l3r and I have a prearranged draw, he thinks.

The 1 vs 2 match up is not happening until Tuesday of next week. Neither of us had a mutually convenient night this week.

@Tom: It’s a little worrying at this point.

For purposes of the tournament, if he doesn’t come back, the games played against him will simply be removed from

    @drunknknite: Dang it, you’re right.

Accepting a “Grandmaster draw” goes completely against your fighting spirit. I’m disappointed.

@l3rucewayne: At least play out 10 or so moves to make the draw look real.

@Polly: OK, that’s cool. Now I know to try to get a sneak peak on Tuesday.

@Tacticus: Your furious-ness was in full display there.
